Can not eating enough cause weight gain?

I often skip breakfast and sometimes even lunch when I'm swamped at work. Lately, I've noticed my weight increasing instead of decreasing. Can not eating enough throughout the day actually lead to weight gain?

My doctor at the hospital clearly told me that starving or eating too little crashes your metabolic rate, causing the body to store whatever you eat as fat. If you are experiencing unexpected weight gain despite eating very little, please consult an endocrinologist to check for thyroid or other hormonal imbalances.

Bro, I tried that extreme one-meal-a-day diet and actually ended up looking more bloated and gaining weight. Your body thinks it is starving, so it holds onto everything you eat. Eating normal, healthy meals on time is the only way to keep your metabolism active.

I used to panic when the scale went up even after I barely ate anything for days. I later learned it is totally normal for the body to retain water and slow down metabolism when it doesn't get enough energy. Once I started eating regular, small portions, my weight stabilized, so don't worry.

My daughter tried a strict diet where she skipped lunch and dinner, but she only ended up feeling bloated, weak, and her weight actually went up. I made her sit down and eat regular home-cooked meals like dal-rice and subzi. Within a few weeks, her digestion improved and her weight became normal.

Haan na, log sochte hain ki kam khane se weight loss hoga, par ulta weight badh jata hai. Body starvation mode mein chali jati hai aur sab kuch fat banke store karne lagti hai. Isse acha thoda-thoda healthy khate raho, health ke liye wahi best hai.

Starving yourself just destroys your muscle mass and slows down your BMR, which leads to weight gain in the long run. If your doctor allows, focus on a light strength routine or daily brisk walks combined with a high-protein, moderate-calorie diet. That is how you burn fat safely.

I was researching this yesterday because I noticed I was gaining weight despite skipping dinner. Apparently, chronic calorie restriction triggers high cortisol levels, which is a stress hormone that promotes belly fat storage. It's fascinating how eating too little can totally backfire on us.
