Can not eating enough cause hair loss?

My hair has become very thin and I'm seeing a lot of breakage lately. I realized that my diet is quite poor and I often don't eat enough through the day. Could not eating enough nutrients be causing my hair to fall?

Absolutely, yes. Hair is non-essential tissue, so when you don't eat enough, your body diverts nutrients to your heart and brain first, starving your hair follicles. If you want to stop the hair fall, you need to eat a proper, protein-rich diet.

Honestly, yes! I skipped meals to lose weight quickly for a family wedding, and my hair started falling out in chunks. It was so scary. Now I make sure to eat properly because having healthy hair is way more important than a crash diet.

Don't stress, your hair will grow back once you start nourishing your body properly. When we don't eat enough, our body gets stressed and pushes hair into a resting phase, causing it to fall out. Just start eating healthy, home-cooked meals regularly, and you will see a difference.

As someone managing diabetes, I've learned that irregular nutrition affects everything, including hair health. Skipping meals can cause nutrient deficiencies that lead to hair thinning. Please focus on eating regular, balanced meals and consult a clinical nutritionist for guidance.

I ignored my heavy hair fall for months, thinking it was just because of a poor diet, but it turned out to be a severe vitamin D and B12 deficiency that took over a year to fix. Please don't ignore this; go get a complete blood profile done before your hair thinning gets worse.

I get so anxious whenever I see strands of hair on my comb, and I immediately start searching if I'm deficient in iron or zinc. It's so true that not eating enough starves your roots, which makes the hair fall out. Please eat well so you don't have to go through this constant worry.

When I faced severe hair thinning, I went to a dermatologist at a reputed hospital, and they explained how nutritional deficiency triggers telogen effluvium. They ran some tests and prescribed specific supplements. I highly recommend visiting a good doctor to find the exact cause instead of guessing.
