Can nioxin cause hair loss?

I started using Nioxin products a few weeks ago for thinning hair, hoping it would help. Instead, it feels like I'm losing even more hair. Could Nioxin actually be causing this hair loss?

If you are experiencing sudden hair fall after using a new product, please stop it immediately. It is always safer to get your scalp examined by a proper dermatologist rather than self-treating.

I started Nioxin last week and I feel like I'm losing more hair than before. Did anyone else face this initial shedding phase, or is it just me? I'm really scared of going bald.

I know how heartbreaking it is to watch your hair fall out in the shower, especially when you bought an expensive shampoo specifically to prevent it. It felt so frustrating and unfair. You are not alone, please stay strong.

Hey there! Nioxin is meant to promote hair health, but sometimes a scalp transition or mild sensitivity to its active ingredients can cause temporary shedding. If it persists beyond a month, definitely switch back to a mild, neutral shampoo.

Usually, Nioxin doesn't cause hair loss, but some people can have a mild allergic reaction or initial shedding. Make sure you are rinsing it out completely and not leaving any chemical residue on your scalp.

Don't panic! I used Nioxin and faced heavy shedding in the first 2-3 weeks, which is apparently normal as it clears out old follicles. After a month, my scalp felt much healthier and the shedding completely stopped.
