Can newborns sense pregnancy?

Expecting my second child, I've noticed my one-year-old, who's practically still a newborn to me, has been acting a bit different lately. My mother-in-law mentioned that young children can sometimes sense a new pregnancy. Is there any truth to this?

I can only share my own experience, but when I was pregnant with my second, my 4-month-old newborn became extremely clingy and would only sleep on my belly. It really felt like she knew. Talk to your doctor if you have any health concerns.

My elders always say that small babies can feel another life coming and might demand more attention. It is a sweet thought. However, for all practical health tracking during pregnancy, always keep in close touch with your gynecologist.

Yes, beautiful soul, babies are incredibly pure and can easily sense the subtle shift in energy and love around their mother. Stay positive, cherish this wonderful bond, and let your doctor guide your health journey.

Scientifically, newborns can detect the hormonal changes in your body through your scent and may react to changes in your routine. It is quite fascinating! Just focus on taking care of yourself and speak to your doctor about your health.

Newborns are highly sensitive to changes in a mother's scent and behavior, which might make them act differently. Keep your stress low and monitor your blood pressure regularly during this busy phase, and consult your doctor for medical advice.
