Can neck pain cause teeth pain?

I've been having this weird toothache that comes and goes, but my dentist says my teeth are fine. I also have persistent neck and jaw pain. Could my neck pain be somehow causing this sensation of tooth pain?

Yes, referred pain from neck muscle trigger points can absolutely make your teeth ache. Better to consult both a dentist and a doctor to find the source.

Oh wow, yes! 😮 My dentist found nothing wrong with my teeth, and it turned out to be muscle tension in my neck and jaw radiating pain. A good massage and some rest worked wonders! Do get it checked though!

My doctor explained that the trigeminal nerve pathway can cause referred pain between the neck, jaw, and teeth. If you are clenching your jaw due to neck pain, your teeth will hurt. I highly recommend consulting a physician or a physical therapist.

I literally just went through this last month. I thought I needed a root canal, but my dentist said my teeth were perfect and it was all from a strained neck nerve. Doing neck stretches solved the teeth ache! Please check with a doctor.

Having dealt with cervical issues for years, I can tell you jaw and teeth pain are very common side effects of neck stiffness. Avoid chewing hard food when it flares up, apply a warm compress, and definitely schedule a doctor visit.
