Can mono cause liver damage?

My cousin recently had mono, and the doctors are concerned about her liver. She's quite worried. Is it possible for mono to cause liver damage?

It can cause mild swelling in the liver, yes. When my son had it, I made sure he got complete bed rest and gave him fresh buttermilk and warm water. Avoid any heavy food, but please keep his doctor in the loop.

Yes, it can elevate your liver enzymes which shows temporary inflammation, but permanent damage is rare. Just get a Liver Function Test done. Don't guess, let the blood reports tell you the actual situation.

Bro, my liver enzymes went crazy when I had mono last semester. I had to stop going out and partying completely because alcohol is a big no-no when your liver is already struggling with the virus.

It can cause some temporary liver inflammation, but please don't lose peace of mind. With proper rest and regular consultation with your doctor, you will get through this smoothly.

I literally just recovered from this last month. My doctor did a sonography because my liver was slightly tender. Thankfully it was just mild inflammation and went back to normal after three weeks of solid rest.

I freaked out when I read about mono and liver stuff on Google, I thought my liver was scarred for life. But honestly, most cases are just mild swelling. Keep checking with your doctor so you don't stress needlessly like I did.

Listen, don't panic. It is very common for mono to cause temporary liver inflammation, but it rarely leads to actual damage. Just make sure you are resting, staying hydrated, and avoiding any self-medication right now.

Well, your liver definitely throws a bit of a tantrum during mono! It's not permanent damage, just your liver complaining about the virus. Just keep the oil and spicy food away for a bit and it will behave.
