Can mold exposure cause weight gain?

I've gained quite a bit of weight in the last year, and I can't seem to shed it despite my efforts. My friend mentioned that mold exposure can sometimes disrupt the body's systems, leading to weight gain. Is this a possibility?

If you are experiencing sudden weight gain and suspect it is due to mold, please visit a reputed multi-specialty hospital and consult an endocrinologist. While some online articles link mycotoxins to metabolic issues, only a qualified medical specialist can run the proper blood tests to find the actual cause of your weight changes.

I completely understand how stressful it is when your body starts changing and you gain weight without any obvious reason. It makes you feel so anxious and you start doubting everything around you, like the mold in the house. Please don't be too hard on yourself, take a deep breath and consult a doctor to ease your mind.

Honestly, at fifty, even looking at a gulab jamun makes me gain weight, so I can't blame mold for everything! But jokes aside, mold can make you feel so tired and sluggish that you stop moving around, which definitely leads to weight gain. Keep your room dry, get moving, and stop worrying too much!

I track all my bio-metrics closely, and while toxic mold can cause chronic inflammation and mess with your sleep quality, it doesn't directly cause weight gain. However, poor sleep and high inflammation will definitely spike your cortisol levels, making weight loss much harder. Try tracking your daily activity and sleep patterns to see the full picture.

In our family, we believe that stagnant air and dampness can slow down the body's digestion and cause bloating, which feels like weight gain. Drinking warm cumin water daily can help clear out toxins and improve metabolism. Still, if you are gaining real weight quickly, please consult a good doctor for advice.
