Can metamucil cause weight gain?

I'm trying to manage my weight and my doctor recommended adding fiber supplements. I'm considering Metamucil, but I'm worried if it could lead to weight gain.

Honestly, at this age, even breathing air seems to make me gain weight! But jokes aside, Metamucil shouldn't cause weight gain because it's mostly just fiber. If you are feeling heavier, it might just be the extra water weight or temporary bloating in your stomach.

Haan na, starting mein stomach itna tight lagta hai ki lagta hai weight badh gaya. But actually it's just bloating, ho na. Don't worry, once your system cleared up, everything will become normal.

Hey, don't worry about it. Pure psyllium fiber cannot make you gain fat because your body doesn't absorb the calories from it. Any initial weight increase is just water retention or bloating. Make sure you are drinking enough water and let your digestive system adjust.

I completely panicked when the scale went up by 1.5 kilos after starting Metamucil! I thought I was getting fat from a fiber supplement. But my doctor reassured me that fiber holds onto a lot of water in your digestive system, which causes temporary water weight. It went back to normal in a week.

Bro, I use Metamucil for my gut health while gymming. No way it causes fat gain. It actually makes you feel fuller, so you end up eating less junk. If you're heavier, you just need to drink more water to flush it out.

I literally spend hours researching side effects of everything I consume! I was so anxious about weight gain with Metamucil. But after looking into it, it seems to be just temporary water retention. Still, if you feel very uncomfortable, maybe consult your doctor once?

I can only speak from my own experience with fiber supplements. I did not gain any fat, but I definitely felt very full and slightly bloated during the first two weeks. Once my digestion cleared up, my belly actually felt much flatter.

In yoga, we believe in keeping the gut clean. When you introduce high fiber, the digestive tract expands, which can feel like weight gain. Doing some gentle Pawanmuktasana can help release the trapped gas and make your stomach feel light again.

Haan, actually starting mein thoda lagta hai ki weight badh gaya hai, na? But that is just because of bloating. Fiber stomach mein jaake phoolta hai, so physical weight temporary dikhta hai scale pe. Fat gain bilkul nahi hota isse, chill karo.

My mother always tells us that taking natural isabgol is better than processed powders. However, my doctor mentioned that some flavored versions of Metamucil actually contain added sugars. If you take those regularly, the extra calories might lead to mild weight gain, so check the label carefully.

I was actually researching this online, and the sugar-free version of Metamucil has almost zero calories. So unless you are drinking the sugar-loaded flavored ones in huge quantities, it is physically impossible to gain fat from it. It's just water weight.

Beta, at our age, we have used local isabgol for decades. It never causes real weight gain. It only cleans your stomach. If you feel heavy, it is just because the fiber is doing its job inside. Have faith and continue drinking enough water.

I have tried everything from flaxseeds to isabgol for my chronic constipation. I also noticed a slight heaviness on the scale initially with Metamucil. What worked for me was taking it in the morning with lukewarm water instead of cold water, which reduced the gas and bloating significantly.

I just started taking this last week and I feel so bloated and heavy, like my pants are tighter. Has anyone else experienced this sudden weight gain? I'm really scared that this is going to make me permanently fat.

Yaar, don't stress too much! Metamucil is basically just fiber, it has zero fat-gaining properties. If you're seeing a higher number on the scale, it's probably just because you haven't cleared your bowels yet or because of water weight. Just keep chugging water!
