Can melatonin cause weight gain?

Considering melatonin for my sleep issues, I'm worried about weight gain. I'm already struggling with my weight and heard conflicting things about whether it causes weight gain. Can using melatonin lead to an increase in body weight?

No yaar, melatonin actually doesn't cause weight gain. In fact, getting proper sleep because of it can actually help balance your hormones and manage your weight better.

My daughter was prescribed melatonin for her sleep cycle, and she did not gain any weight from it. Just make sure they aren't eating late-night snacks due to boredom before sleeping, which is the real cause of weight gain.

Relax, melatonin is just a sleep hormone and won't cause weight gain. Good quality sleep is actually essential for a healthy metabolism, so don't worry and focus on getting your rest.

I know how stressful it is to worry about weight gain with every single pill you take. But you can take deep breaths—melatonin is generally very safe and won't make you put on weight.

Melatonin is safe and doesn't lead to weight gain. But for your safety, if you have any pre-existing health conditions, please get your dosage checked and confirmed by your doctor first.

I took melatonin for three months for my insomnia and didn't gain a single kilo. Once my sleep schedule got fixed, my daytime cravings actually reduced and I felt much more active.
