Can magnesium cause weight gain?

I'm trying to manage my weight and started taking magnesium for my energy levels. But I'm also worried if any supplement could inadvertently lead to weight gain. Has anyone else experienced this with magnesium?

I completely understand how stressful it is when you start a new supplement and worry about your weight. Rest assured, magnesium actually helps regulate blood sugar and metabolism, so it doesn't cause weight gain. Try not to stress too much!

Magnesium won't make you gain weight, but sometimes starting new pills causes slight water retention or bloating. Just drink 3 liters of water daily and walk for 30 minutes. That will clear up any temporary puffiness easily.

Nahi behen, magnesium se koi motapa nahi aata hai. Yeh toh hamare shareer ke liye bahut accha hota hai. Aap bas ghar ka achha khana khao aur dhyan rakho, chinta mat karo bilkul.

In the gym community, we actually use magnesium to prevent muscle cramps and improve recovery. It has zero calories and won't cause weight gain. Just keep an eye on your overall daily calorie intake and keep working out.

Don't worry, magnesium doesn't cause fat gain. It actually helps with muscle relaxation and sleep, which is very good for your body. Take care.

I know how frustrating it is to feel bloated and think your hard work is going to waste. I felt the same when starting magnesium, but it is actually just water weight and it goes away. Hang in there, your body is just adjusting.

Scientifically speaking, magnesium is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions and generally aids metabolic health rather than hindering it. However, if you are experiencing sudden weight changes, it is best to consult your doctor to check for other underlying factors.

Wait, really? I felt like my face looked a bit bloated after taking magnesium for a week. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just my imagination? Should I stop taking it?
