Can magnesium cause liver damage?

I've been taking magnesium supplements for my migraines for a few months now, and they seem to help. But someone mentioned that too much of any supplement can be bad for your liver. Should I be concerned about magnesium affecting my liver?

Honestly, magnesium doesn't cause liver damage; in fact, some studies show it actually supports liver health. But instead of synthetic supplements, I always suggest getting it from avocados, spinach, and bananas. Clean food is always easier on the liver.

Arey, my liver handles all my spicy biryanis and late-night street food cravings just fine! From what I know, normal magnesium won't hurt your liver at all. Just don't overdo the supplements, stick to eating rich foods like dark chocolate and nuts!

For liver health, drinking warm water with lemon or consuming amla is wonderful. Magnesium supplements generally don't hurt the liver, but if you are experiencing severe nausea, yellow eyes, or pain, please visit a proper doctor immediately.

I completely understand why you are anxious; I also google every single supplement thinking it will damage my organs! But rest assured, magnesium is processed safely and doesn't cause liver issues. Take a deep breath.

I have been taking magnesium glycinate for muscle cramps for two years now. My yearly liver function tests are absolutely perfect, no issues at all. Just stick to the daily dose recommended by your doctor and don't worry.

Actually yaar, magnesium is super safe for the liver. Unless you are swallowing bottles of pills daily, it won't cause any harm. But if you have some existing liver issue, then obviously talk to your doc once.

Wait, does magnesium really affect the liver? I just started a new supplement and my right side feels slightly heavy today. Has anyone else felt this, or am I just overthinking things again?

As someone with PCOS, I take magnesium to help with insulin sensitivity and sleep. I have never heard of it causing liver issues, but since our bodies are sensitive, it is always a good idea to run your supplements by your gynecologist first.

At 50, everything I eat feels like it might damage something or the other! But thankfully, magnesium is not a culprit for liver damage. Just take the standard dose and don't make yourself dizzy reading internet forums.

When I went to Apollo for my regular checkup, I asked the senior physician about this. He clearly said magnesium is very safe for the liver in normal doses. Please ask your own doctor to get personalized advice.

Please don't self-diagnose if you are feeling unwell. I once ignored stomach issues thinking it was just a supplement side-effect, and it turned out to be a serious gallbladder issue. Go get a proper blood test done.

Hello! I see this question a lot here. Magnesium is actually great for the body and is not known to cause liver damage. Just ensure you are buying from a trusted brand and not taking crazy high doses.
