Can lyme cause hair loss?

Visiting a forested area recently, I've been feeling quite unwell with general body aches since then. The most concerning thing is that my hair has also started falling out a lot. I'm wondering if something like Lyme disease could be causing this hair loss.

Losing chunks of hair during my recovery was absolutely heartbreaking and made me feel so insecure. It is completely valid to feel devastated by this on top of physical pain. Please hang in there, your body is under a lot of stress right now but the hair does grow back once the infection clears.

Dealing with hormonal hair loss in PCOS has taught me how sensitive our bodies are to stress and infections. Lyme disease can trigger telogen effluvium, which is temporary hair shedding. It is best to consult your doctor to rule out nutritional deficiencies before starting any supplements.

Severe infections like Lyme put immense stress on the body, which can disrupt the hair growth cycle. Practicing gentle pranayama can help reduce stress and improve blood circulation. Be gentle with your hair and focus on a nourishing, simple diet.

Hey, don't worry too much about the hair fall right now. When the body fights a big infection like Lyme, it diverts energy away from hair growth, causing temporary shedding. Focus fully on completing your antibiotics and eating well, and your hair will definitely recover soon.

Yes, Lyme disease and the stress of the infection can cause temporary hair thinning. Taking biotin and keeping stress low helps a lot during recovery.

At my age, my hair was already planning its retirement, but Lyme disease definitely accelerated the process. The sheer stress of the infection and antibiotics can make your hair fall out in handfuls. Keep your sense of humor intact and talk to your doctor about some good vitamins.
