Can lower back pain cause knee pain?

Since last month, my lower back has been giving me trouble, especially after sitting for long hours. But now, my right knee has also started aching. I'm wondering if the two could be connected in some way.

My elders always told me that knee pain is due to cold weather, but my doctor recently explained that a pinched nerve in the lower back can actually send pain signals down to the knees. This is called referred pain. It is best to consult an orthopedist to find the true source.

Our spine is the pillar of the body, and any misalignment in the lower back forces us to walk differently, putting heavy pressure on the knees. Gentle yoga stretches like Balasana can help, but please let a specialist examine you if the pain is severe.

Don't start rubbing random pain relief oils on your knees thinking it's a joint issue. If a sciatic nerve in your back is compressed, it will cause knee pain. Go to a proper hospital, get an X-ray or MRI as recommended by a doctor, and treat the actual cause.

I completely understand how frustrating it is when you can't walk properly because both your back and knees hurt, and you feel so helpless. It is actually very common because of nerve connections. Please don't lose heart, get it checked, and take it one day at a time.

With long laptop hours, back pain is common, but if it's radiating to your knees, it's a clear sign of nerve irritation. Don't waste time trying multiple home remedies. Book an online consultation with a physiotherapist or orthopedist this weekend to get a proper diagnosis.

Please be very careful with this. I ignored my lower back ache thinking it was just fatigue, until it severely pinched my sciatic nerve and my knee and foot went numb. I had to undergo months of intense treatment. Please consult a doctor immediately if you feel pain traveling down.

Haan na, it actually happens. When my lower back was bad, I started limping slightly, and that put all the weight on my right knee. It's all connected, you know? Better to see a doctor soon before the knee pain gets worse.
