Can low tsh cause hair loss?

My TSH levels came back a bit low in my recent blood test, and I've noticed a lot more hair falling out lately. Could these two things be connected? My doctor mentioned something about thyroid but didn't elaborate much on the hair loss part.

Yes, low TSH (which usually means an overactive thyroid) can definitely cause severe hair thinning and shedding. Please get a proper medical checkup.

While eating biotin-rich vegetarian foods like almonds and seeds is great for hair health, it won't stop hair loss if your TSH levels are abnormal. Low TSH indicates hyperthyroidism, which directly triggers hair thinning. You must see an endocrinologist for treatment.

My grandmother used to suggest applying homemade curry leaf oil to prevent hair fall. While it keeps the scalp healthy, low TSH is a serious hormonal issue that requires clinical attention. Please consult a doctor to balance your thyroid levels.

Both high and low TSH levels can disrupt the normal hair growth cycle, leading to diffuse hair shedding. It is highly recommended to consult an endocrinologist to address the underlying thyroid issue rather than trying over-the-counter hair treatments.

Don't panic seeing your hair fall, it is a very common reaction when your TSH levels are low and your thyroid is overactive. It can be easily controlled once you start the correct treatment under a doctor's guidance. Take care of yourself.
