Can low ferritin cause hair loss?

My hair fall has been quite severe lately, and my recent blood test showed low ferritin levels. My doctor said it's related to iron stores. Could low ferritin be the main reason for my hair loss?

Oh my god, yes! I literally stay awake researching this because my hair fall is getting so bad and now I am panicking that my ferritin is zero. Please don't worry too much, let's both get our blood tests done soon so we can stop overthinking and get the right treatment.

I actually just recovered from this! My hair was falling out in clumps, and my doctor checked my ferritin (iron stores) which was extremely low. Within three months of taking the prescribed iron supplements, my hair shedding stopped and I feel so much more energetic now. Definitely get your ferritin levels checked.

Honestly, between my work shifts and watching my hair end up on my pillow, I'm barely sleeping. My doctor told me low ferritin is probably the issue. Guess I need to stop living on caffeine and actually get my iron checked before I go completely bald.

Haan, bilkul, low ferritin ka matlab sharir me iron stores kam hain, jis se hair fall hona pakka hai. Isme darna nahi hai, doctor se consult karke checkup kara lo, na? Wo simple iron supplements de kar hair fall rokh denge.

I was actually researching hair health the other day and found out that ferritin is basically the iron storage your body needs to grow hair. When it's low, your body prioritizes vital organs instead of hair growth. It's really interesting but definitely a solid reason to visit a doctor.

Please don't start self-prescribing iron tablets just because you read this online; excess iron can be very toxic. Low ferritin can cause hair loss, but you need a proper blood test and a doctor's prescription to determine the safe dosage for your body.
