Can low b12 cause hair loss?

My hair has been thinning a lot lately, and I've been struggling to figure out why. I'm a vegetarian, and someone suggested checking my B12 levels. Can low B12 cause hair loss?

Please don't ignore this. I lost half my hair because I ignored my fatigue and skipped tests, thinking it was just stress. Get a simple blood test done immediately; B12 deficiency is very easy to fix once detected.

Yes, low B12 definitely causes hair fall. My doctor gave me supplements and it stopped.

At Max Hospital, the doctor clearly explained that B12 is crucial for red blood cell production, which carries oxygen to hair follicles. Go ask your doctor clearly for a proper supplement dosage after getting tested.

My college-going daughter was losing so much hair and feeling tired all the time. We got her blood test done, and her B12 was extremely low. With the doctor's tablets and proper curd and milk, her hair is much thicker now.

If you are a vegetarian working long hours, B12 deficiency is almost guaranteed. Don't waste time on DIY hair masks. Just spend 15 minutes getting a blood test done and start your supplements.

Yeah bro, happened to me last year. I was shedding like crazy and my B12 was below 150. Got a few injections prescribed by my doc and my hair fall stopped within a month.

It absolutely does. B12 is essential for cell division, and hair follicles are highly sensitive to its drop. Stop guessing, get your levels checked, and start a standard weekly supplement.

Eating fermented foods like idli or drinking buttermilk helps with gut health, which absorption needs. But if you have numbness in your hands along with hair loss, please see a doctor immediately.

I can only speak from my own journey. My hair was thinning badly and once my doctor put me on monthly B12 supplements, the shedding stopped completely in two months.

B12 deficiency is very common in India. Make sure you don't just take multi-vitamins; you need a proper therapeutic dose of Methylcobalamin if your levels are very low. Talk to a doc and get a prescription.

Don't fall for YouTube videos claiming onion juice cures all hair loss. If your B12 is low, no external oil will help. Go to a certified general physician and verify what supplements you actually need.

Low B12 can also cause neurological issues if left untreated for too long. Since hair loss is a clear warning sign, please get your blood checked immediately for safety.
