Can losartan cause liver damage?

My doctor recently prescribed a new blood pressure medicine for me. I was looking up side effects online and read something concerning about liver damage. Can this type of blood pressure medicine potentially harm the liver?

I was on Losartan for my BP and my doctor did routine blood tests to keep an eye on my liver. It is very rare, but some people can have elevated liver enzymes. If you feel fine, don't worry, but get your routine tests done.

I take BP meds alongside my diabetes routine. While Losartan is generally safe, any medicine has to be processed by the liver and kidneys, so a clean diet with low salt and no extra processed sugar is essential to reduce the load on your body.

I have been taking Losartan for years for my hypertension. My cardiologist always tells me that regular kidney and liver function tests are necessary every six months just to be safe. It's a standard precaution, so don't miss your doctor checkups.

I can't say if it causes liver damage medically, but my mother has been taking it for five years without any issues. Her doctor checks her blood reports regularly and says everything looks normal.

Modern medicines have their place, but we must help our body naturally too. While you take your BP pill as advised, practicing daily sheetali pranayama can help cool the system and naturally balance your blood pressure.
