Can liver damage cause itching?

I've been experiencing really intense and persistent itching all over my body, particularly at night. It's driving me crazy! My doctor recently told me my liver is not functioning optimally. Could liver damage be the cause of this severe itching?

My aunt had this unbearable itching on her palms and soles, and we later found out it was due to bile salt buildup from a liver issue. It was so hard for her to sleep! Once she started the doctor's treatment, it got much better. Please get a simple liver test done.

Please take this seriously. I had severe, non-stop itching all over my body which I ignored, and it turned out to be a major liver complication. Do not wait for other symptoms like jaundice to appear; consult a specialist immediately.

I was scratching myself like a monkey last summer and thought it was just the heat, but my liver was actually screaming for help! Once I cut down the oily food and met a doctor, the itching stopped. Don't worry, just get your liver checked and you'll be fine.

Yes, medically known as pruritus, itching is a well-known symptom of liver disease because bile acids deposit under the skin. I track my health metrics daily and always advise people to get an LFT and consult a doctor if itching persists without any visible rash.

Oh dear, that constant itching must be so annoying and exhausting for you! Please don't stress too much, but do make an appointment with a doctor. It is very common with liver issues, and once you get the right medicine, it will clear up quickly.

Please try to keep your mind calm, as worrying too much can worsen the body's sensitivity. Itching can indeed happen when the liver is struggling, so take care of your body with simple foods, stay hydrated, and let a qualified doctor guide your healing journey.

Look, let's be honest—itching without a rash is a classic warning sign of liver trouble. Applying cold creams or oils won't solve an internal liver issue. Save your time, go to a lab, get your liver enzymes tested, and show the report to a doctor.
