Can liver cysts cause weight gain?

I've been steadily gaining weight over the last year, and I can't seem to figure out why, despite diet and exercise. I recently found out I have a small liver cyst. Could this liver cyst be causing my weight gain?

My mother told me to drink barley water to reduce bloating when I gained some weight, but my doctor clarified that a simple liver cyst itself does not cause general weight gain. It might just cause some local swelling or bloating in the upper stomach if it grows very big. It is always best to get a medical scan.

Honestly, I have a liver cyst and when my weight went up by 3 kgs, I immediately started worrying if they were connected. After researching endlessly, I realized they usually aren't, but the stress makes me eat more! I hope you are doing okay, don't worry too much.

Hey, relax. A simple liver cyst is just a small fluid sac and has nothing to do with your body's fat or weight gain. If you are noticing sudden weight changes, it could be thyroid, water retention, or just lifestyle. Let's get a basic health checkup done to find the real reason.

Usually, liver cysts do not directly cause weight gain. I always advise maintaining a clean, high-fiber vegetarian diet to keep your digestion and liver healthy overall. If you feel bloated, try lighter meals and check with a dietitian or doctor.

According to the health tracking apps I use, weight gain is mostly about caloric surplus or hormonal issues, not liver cysts. A cyst might cause localized bloating if it's very large, but not overall fat gain. Try tracking your daily food intake and consult a doctor for a professional opinion.

As someone managing PCOS, I know how frustrating unexplained weight gain can be. While liver cysts themselves don't usually cause weight gain, other hormonal imbalances or liver issues might. It is always safer to talk to your doctor and get a complete hormone and liver panel done.

Drinking warm lemon water in the morning is great for metabolism and general health, but it won't shrink a liver cyst. Cysts don't typically cause weight gain, but if your stomach is feeling unusually heavy or swollen, please get it checked by a proper doctor.
