Can liquid iv cause weight gain?

I've started taking Liquid IV to help with hydration, especially after long work shifts. I'm also trying to manage my weight, and I'm a bit concerned if this drink could cause me to gain weight. Does anyone know?

Don't stress too much about it! One packet has only about 45-50 calories, so it won't cause any real weight gain unless you are drinking 5 packets a day.

For me, the high sodium in hydration drinks caused severe water retention and bloating, which looked like sudden weight gain. If you have any heart or kidney issues, check with a doctor first.

Liquid IV is quite expensive anyway, so drinking it daily isn't very practical for the pocket. Stick to home-made nimbu paani with very little sugar, it's cheap and won't cause weight gain.

It does have some sugar to help with hydration, but it's totally fine if you are active! Just drink it on days you sweat a lot. 🌞

If you are sitting at a desk all day and drinking high-sugar hydration packets, those extra calories will add up. Unless you are doing intense workouts, normal water is more than enough.

Liquid IV contains about 11 grams of sugar per serving. If you are on a strict low-carb diet for weight loss, this can easily spike your insulin and slow down your progress.
