Can lack of vitamin'd cause hair loss?

My recent blood test showed that my Vitamin D levels are quite low. At the same time, I'm facing a lot of hair fall these days. Could there be a connection, like can a deficiency in Vitamin D actually cause hair loss?

My 16-year-old daughter was losing so much hair last year that we got really worried. The doctor recommended a vitamin D test, and it was shockingly low. Once she started taking the weekly chewable tablets prescribed by our pediatrician, her hair fall stopped almost completely.

Oh absolutely! Vitamin D is super important to stimulate new hair growth. I call it the sunshine vitamin for a reason! Just get a quick blood test done and ask your doctor for a supplement, you will see your shiny hair back soon.

Yes, Vitamin D is like prana for our hair follicles, and lack of it causes them to go dormant. Along with the supplements your doctor suggests, try sitting in the soft morning sunlight for 15 minutes and practicing Kapalbhati to improve blood circulation to your scalp.

Yes, it is highly linked, but please don't start self-medicating with high-dose Vitamin D supplements as toxicity can cause kidney issues. Go to a reputed lab, get your levels checked, and show the report to a general physician for the correct advice.

I tried onion juice, amla packs, and every herbal oil under the sun, but nothing stopped my hair fall. It was only when I got tested and found my Vitamin D was at 12 that I realized the problem was internal. Don't waste time on external remedies if your vitamins are low.
