Can lack of sleep cause weight loss?

I've unintentionally lost a noticeable amount of weight recently, and I'm not really trying to diet. My sleep schedule is completely messed up due to a lot of work stress and late nights. Could this chronic lack of sleep be causing my weight loss?

Usually, lack of sleep leads to weight gain due to hormonal imbalances, so losing weight instead is a bit unusual. Don't look for answers online. Please consult a doctor to get your thyroid and blood sugar levels checked.

Beta, when the body does not rest, the digestive fire gets disturbed. You may lose weight because your body is under stress. Drink warm milk with almonds at night to help you sleep, and make sure you eat your meals on time.

If sleep loss is making you too tired to eat, try having small, nutritious snacks like dry fruits or a banana. However, unexplained weight loss can be a sign of underlying issues, so please see a doctor if it continues.

It can happen if you are losing your appetite due to stress and fatigue. Take care of yourself, try to eat small meals, and get some rest tonight.

I was actually reading up on this because my cousin lost weight during his stressful exams. Apparently, extreme stress and sleep loss can sometimes kill your appetite completely, leading to weight loss. It's quite interesting how everyone's body reacts differently.
