Can lack of sleep cause body aches?

My whole body feels so achy and tired almost every morning, even though I try to stretch. My sleep quality has been really bad due to a lot of stress lately. I'm curious if not getting enough good sleep can actually cause these body aches.

Yes, definitely! Sleep is when our body does its daily repair work, so no sleep means a very cranky body the next day. 😴 Try to catch up on some good rest tonight and you will feel much better!

My general physician explained that during deep sleep, the body releases growth hormones to repair tissues and muscles. Without enough sleep, this repair process is cut short, leading to systemic aches. He advised me to prioritize 7 hours of undisturbed sleep.

While body aches are common with fatigue, severe or sudden muscle pain should not be ignored. If you are experiencing sudden weakness, dizziness, or chest discomfort along with the aches, please go to a hospital immediately for a proper checkup.

Yeah bro, after late-night shifts I wake up feeling like I got hit by a truck. My whole back and shoulders ache. If I get a solid 8 hours of sleep, the pain just disappears on its own, so just sleep it off.

In our family, we are advised to take a warm water bath before sleep to relieve body pain. However, if your body aches are accompanied by high fever or severe weakness, please consult a doctor instead of just waiting for it to go away.

Yes, absolutely. Lack of proper sleep prevents muscle recovery, leading to dull body aches the next day.

Sleeplessness increases inflammatory markers in the body, which can easily trigger widespread muscle pain and aches. If improving your sleep hygiene doesn't resolve the issue within a few days, it is best to visit a physician for a proper evaluation.
