Can kratom cause liver damage?

I've been taking Kratom for a while for pain relief, but my friend recently warned me about potential side effects, especially for the liver. I'm worried about my liver health. Can Kratom use really cause liver damage over time?

I always advise the younger generation to stick to our traditional herbs like Tulsi and Giloy rather than these foreign powders. My doctor told me that synthetic or unknown herbal extracts can strain your liver filters severely. Please stay safe and avoid such untested products.

There are clinical reports linking regular use of kratom to acute liver injury. Whenever I am unsure about any supplement, I consult the specialists at Fortis Hospital instead of trusting internet forums. You should ask a qualified hepatologist or physician clearly about this.

I panicked completely when I read some horror stories online after having kratom tea once. However, my doctor reassured me that one-off use rarely causes permanent harm, though heavy long-term abuse is indeed risky. Just stop using it and get a basic liver function test (LFT) done to be completely sure.

Clinical literature does show a strong association between kratom consumption and hepatotoxicity, which can present as jaundice or fatigue. Given that these supplements are unregulated, the risk of contamination is also high. It is highly advisable to consult a medical professional for advice.

Yes, it absolutely can. I used to take it daily for energy, but after a few months, my eyes started looking yellowish and my liver enzymes were sky-high. My doctor made me stop it immediately, and thankfully my liver recovered after a few weeks of strict diet and care. Stay away from it.

I totally get it, you might be looking at this for pain relief or anxiety and now you are worried about liver risks. It is really scary to read about these side effects. Please prioritize your safety and discuss proper, approved medical alternatives with your doctor.

Why take risks with these expensive and unregulated imported herbs? If you have body pain or lack of energy, a simple balanced diet and regular medical checkup is much cheaper and safer. Better to completely avoid things that aren't widely approved by doctors.
