Can knee pain cause back pain?

My knees have been hurting for years due to arthritis, but now I'm starting to get back pain too, which is a new problem. I'm wondering if the way I walk because of my knee pain is causing issues with my back. Can knee pain actually lead to back pain?

It is honestly exhausting when one pain leads to another, and it makes you feel so helpless. When my knee was injured, I started limping, which completely messed up my posture and caused terrible lower back pain. Please be gentle with yourself and seek medical help to break this cycle.

At my age, managing high blood pressure means I must walk daily, but knee pain makes my gait uneven, which eventually strains my lower back. This is why regular orthopedic checkups are essential. Correcting your walking posture can save your back from unnecessary strain.

Yes, it can. When you limp or change how you walk because of knee pain, it puts extra stress on your lower back muscles. Please get it checked by a doctor soon.

Before you spend a lot on expensive spinal MRIs, check if simple knee braces or orthotic shoe insoles can correct your walking style. Sometimes, fixing the way your foot hits the ground resolves both the knee and back pain without costing a fortune. Talk to a general physician first.

Oh god, I always worry that a small pain in my joint will lead to some permanent spinal issue! It's so scary when you feel your back starting to ache after walking differently. I really think you should consult a physiotherapist before the posture imbalance gets worse.
