Can kidney stones cause upper back pain?

I've been having persistent upper back pain, which sometimes feels really sharp. I know I have kidney stones, so I'm wondering if this pain could be related to them. Most people say kidney stone pain is lower down, no?

Beta, kidney stone pain usually stays in the lower back and sides. Sometimes a muscle spasm can travel upwards, but for upper back pain, you should definitely consult a doctor first before trying any home remedies.

Usually, stone pain is in the lower back, but muscle tension can spread. Please rest well and consult a doctor if the pain continues.

Haan na, usually the pain is in the lower back only, not upper. It could be some muscle pull. Better to check with your family doctor once.

It is unlikely for stones to cause upper back pain. If you want to rule out stones, a simple ultrasound of the abdomen is quite cheap and will give you a clear answer without wasting money on random physiotherapy.

Normally kidney stones cause flank and lower back pain. If you are experiencing upper back pain, please don't assume it's just a stone. It is safer to see a doctor immediately to check for other issues.

Bro, upper back pain is mostly from bad posture while using the laptop or heavy gym workouts. Kidney stones typically hurt much lower down. Better get it checked by a doc to be sure.
