Can keratin treatment cause hair loss?

My friend got a keratin treatment done a few months back, and she's been complaining about a lot of hair fall since then. I'm also planning to get one, so I wanted to ask if keratin treatments actually cause hair loss.

While keratin is a protein, salon treatments use high heat and formaldehyde which can weaken hair shafts over time. If you have a busy routine and want manageable hair, try using mild leave-in conditioners instead. Don't risk chemical damage if your hair is already thin.

Yes, many people face hair fall after these treatments because of the strong chemicals. Don't worry, your hair will grow back once the chemical effect wears off. Just avoid using hot styling tools for a few months.

With my PCOS, my hair is already prone to thinning, so my dermatologist strictly warned me against chemical keratin treatments. The heat can really damage weak hair follicles. If you have any underlying hormonal issues, it is much safer to avoid these heavy salon treatments.

True hair strength comes from your daily nutrition and protein intake, not temporary parlor treatments. The high heat used during keratin basically damages your hair's natural structure. Eat your eggs, seeds, and leafy greens, and your hair will shine naturally.

I had severe scalp burns and extreme hair thinning after a bad keratin job at a local salon. It took me months of dermatological treatment to recover. Please don't ignore sudden hair fall; see a proper trichologist or dermatologist before it gets worse.

I completely understand how stressful it is to see your hair falling out after spending so much money on a treatment. It can really make you panic. Just take a deep breath, stop all chemicals, and let your scalp heal. It gets better with time, I promise.

Instead of spending thousands on chemical treatments and then buying expensive anti-hair fall shampoos, stick to simple things. Wash your hair twice a week with a mild shampoo and use a little coconut oil. Simple habits work best and save you a lot of money.
