Can intermittent fasting cause weight gain?

My gym instructor recommended intermittent fasting, saying it's great for shedding kilos. But for the last few weeks, I've actually put on a little weight instead of losing. Is it possible for IF to cause weight gain?

My grandmother always says that keeping long gaps in eating spoils the system, but my doctor explained it differently. If we overeat or take heavy calorie foods during the open hours, the weight will definitely go up. It is always best to plan your meals with a certified nutritionist to avoid mistakes.

Sometimes when you keep the stomach empty for too long, acidity increases and you end up eating double. Drink warm jeera water during your fasting hours to keep digestion smooth. If you are gaining rapid weight despite eating less, please consult a physician to check for thyroid or hormone issues.

If you are eating parathas and heavy sweets just because you fasted for 16 hours, weight will increase only na. Best is to keep it simple with normal home-cooked dal, rice, and sabzi during your eating time. Keep a limit on portion sizes and don't buy expensive diet products.

Haan, weight gain ho sakta hai agar hum eating window mein bina soche samjhe dahi bhalle aur samose pel rahe hain. Fasting ka matlab ye nahi hai ki bache hue hours mein overeating karein, na? Thoda portion control toh rakhna hi padega boss.

It can happen if you aren't tracking your macronutrients properly. Even vegetarian foods like nuts, paneer, and rice can be very high in calories if you consume them in large quantities during your eating phase. Try focusing on high-fiber salads, sprouts, and lentils to stay full without piling on extra weight.
