Can infants sense pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my second child, and my first child, who is two, has become very clingy and acting out lately. My friends joked that maybe he senses the pregnancy. Is there any truth to this, can infants or toddlers sense pregnancy?

While there is no scientific proof, many people swear that babies sense changes in their mother's body. Just like keeping a close watch on your daily routine is vital for health, paying attention to your infant's behavior during a new pregnancy can help you manage their transition gently.

Actually, my pediatrician mentioned that while infants don't understand the concept of pregnancy, they are highly sensitive to physical changes. They can easily detect differences in your body temperature, smell due to shifting hormones, and even changes in your heart rate and daily energy levels.

Haan yaar, bilkul sense kar lete hain! Mera beta toh bilkul mere wife se chipak gaya tha jab woh pregnant thi na. Unko shayad smell ya behaviour se kuch alag feel ho jata hai. It's really beautiful to witness.

They definitely react to the subtle changes in you. When I was pregnant the second time, my infant became extremely clingy, but I ignored my own fatigue and didn't get my early checkups done, which caused complications later. Please listen to your body and your baby's cues, and see your doctor early.

Oh absolutely, they are like little lie detectors! They can sense the hormonal changes and your mood shifts instantly. But don't stress too much if they start acting a bit cranky or extra clingy; it's just their way of adjusting to the new vibes.

Yes, infants often sense the change and might want to be held more. But please be careful if your baby is heavy or throws tantrums, as lifting them can sometimes strain your body. Since I had a high-risk pregnancy, my doctor strictly advised me to limit heavy lifting and get regular checkups.

I totally get it, it's such a fascinating thing to observe! When my wife was expecting our second, our toddler just wanted to sleep on her tummy all the time. They definitely sense the shifts in your energy and warmth.

They do seem to sense the physical changes in the mother. Managing a pregnancy while taking care of an infant can raise your stress levels and blood pressure. Make sure you get your routine health checks and BP monitored regularly during this busy transition.
