Can implants get cavities?

I got dental implants a few years ago, and my dentist emphasized good oral hygiene. I know natural teeth can get cavities, but what about the implants themselves? Can dental implants also develop cavities?

That's correct, the titanium and crown cannot decay like natural teeth. Just make sure to clean the gums around them carefully.

No, implants can't get cavities since they are artificial. But gum infections can still happen if you don't clean them.

I went through so much dental anxiety before getting my implants, constantly worrying about them getting ruined. It's a relief to know they don't get cavities, but the fear of maintenance is very real. You are not alone in worrying about this.

Implants themselves are safe from decay, but the surrounding gums need great care. I always do warm salt water rinses ghar pe after meals to keep the gums healthy and avoid any infection near the implant.

Yaar, actually artificial teeth are plastic or ceramic, so decay ka no chance. But do keep brushing well because gum health around the implant is super important.

For mild gum irritation near my implants, I use a bit of turmeric or oil pulling. But if there is severe pain or the implant feels loose, you must see your dentist immediately.

No cavities on implants, but if you have thyroid issues like me, bone density can sometimes affect the implant grip. Make sure you get regular checkups and discuss your health history with your dentist.

Implants don't decay, but as a diabetic, I have to be very careful. High blood sugar can cause gum infections that might loosen the implant, so I keep my diet strict and visit the dentist regularly.

Since implants cost a lot of money, it's best to protect your investment. Get a basic dental clean-up once a year which is quite budget-friendly and prevents expensive gum treatments later.

I just got my final implant crown last month! My doctor explicitly told me that while the tooth won't decay, peri-implantitis is a real thing, so flossing is absolutely mandatory.
