Can i use vicks vaporub during pregnancy?

I have a terrible cough and congestion, and Vicks Vaporub usually helps me breathe better. Since I am pregnant, I want to be extra careful with any products I use. Is Vicks Vaporub considered safe to use during pregnancy?

Yes, using a small amount of Vicks on your chest or back is generally safe, but avoid eating it or putting it inside your nose.

My obstetrician confirmed that external application of Vicks Vaporub in moderate amounts is safe during pregnancy. However, she warned against putting it in boiling water for steam inhalation as the camphor can evaporate too quickly and irritate the airways.

I used Vicks Vaporub on my forehead for headaches when I was pregnant and it really helped me sleep. I never had any issues, but I made sure not to use it on my stomach or sensitive skin areas.

Don't worry, a little Vicks won't harm the baby. Just apply a thin layer on your throat or chest when you have a cold, and wrap yourself in a warm blanket. Avoid using too much of it if the strong smell makes you feel nauseous.

Of course you can, Vicks is like the national medicine of India! Just don't go bathing in it. A tiny bit on your throat is perfectly fine to clear that blocked nose so you can sleep peacefully.

Haan, bilkul use kar sakte ho Vicks, but thoda limit mein hi lagana, na? Zyada lagaoge toh skin pe irritation ho sakti hai kyunki pregnancy mein skin extra sensitive ho jaati hai.
