Can i use vicks in pregnancy?

I've caught a bad cold, and my nose is really stuffy. My grandmother always put Vicks Vaporub on us when we were sick. I'm pregnant now, and I'm wondering if it's safe to use Vicks for my cold symptoms.

When I had a bad cold in my second trimester, I only used a tiny bit of Vicks on my chest and inhaled plain steam. I didn't face any issues, but I avoided applying it near my nose because the smell was too overpowering.

We Indians want to rub Vicks for everything from a cold to a broken leg! But during pregnancy, your skin and nose are super sensitive, so the strong smell might just trigger vomiting. Use it very sparingly or just stick to hot steam.

For cold during pregnancy, the most practical solution is inhaling plain steam from a hot water bowl twice a day. You can rub a very small amount of Vicks on your back, but avoid using too much of it on your face or chest.

May God bless you with good health during this beautiful time. Vicks is generally okay for mild congestion when used externally in small amounts, but keep your thoughts positive and drink warm tulsi water for natural healing. Take care.

No need to rush for expensive clinic visits for a simple cold. A small tub of Vicks is very cheap and usually safe for light external use. Just rub a little on your throat and inhale steam, it saves you both money and unnecessary worry.
