Can i take vitamin'd with thyroid medication?

I've been taking thyroid medication for many years now. Someone told me that Vitamin D is good for bone health. I'm not sure if it's safe to take with my existing thyroid medicine, will there be any interaction?

I also have thyroid issues with my PCOS, and my doctor prescribed Vitamin D because my levels were super low. But please ask your endocrinologist first before starting any supplement, just to be safe with the doses. From what I know, keeping a few hours gap between the two is really important.

Actually, you can definitely take both, but just don't gulp them down together yaar. My doc told me to take the thyroid pill first thing in the morning empty stomach, and keep a gap of at least 2-4 hours before taking Vitamin D or any other multivitamin. Otherwise the thyroid medicine won't absorb properly.

Yes, you can, but timing is key here. Never mix them. Take your thyroid pill first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, and wait at least 4 hours before taking Vitamin D. Best is to consult your physician to get the exact dosage sorted for your body.

I totally get it, managing multiple supplements and pills every day can feel so confusing. Many people with thyroid issues actually have low Vitamin D and take both safely. Just remember to take your thyroid medicine empty stomach in the morning, and save the Vitamin D for later in the day.

Yes, it is very common to take both because thyroid issues often come with vitamin deficiencies. I always take my thyroid pill early morning with warm water, and then take Vitamin D with lunch since it needs some fat to absorb well. But do get your blood levels checked by a doctor first.

I worry about drug interactions all the time, so I literally asked my doctor this three times! They assured me it is perfectly safe as long as they aren't taken at the exact same time. Just keep a gap of several hours so your body absorbs the thyroid medicine properly, okay? Don't stress.

Honestly, I can barely remember to take my thyroid medicine half the time because of my crazy sleep cycle. But yes, my doctor put me on Vitamin D too. Just don't take them together at 6 AM unless you want to waste the thyroid pill's effect; keep a solid few hours of gap in between.
