Can i take pepcid during pregnancy?

My heartburn has been terrible since I got pregnant, and I'm really struggling to eat properly. A relative suggested Pepcid, but I'm careful with medicines while pregnant. Can I take Pepcid safely during pregnancy?

I know how stressful it is to worry about every single medicine when you are pregnant. Pepcid (famotidine) is generally considered quite safe, but please ask your doctor first just to be 100% sure and calm your mind.

Famotidine, which is Pepcid, is often prescribed for pregnancy heartburn when normal antacids don't work. However, you should still let your gynecologist know so they can suggest the right dosage for your trimester.

Oh god, pregnancy heartburn is a different level of torture! Pepcid is usually fine, but definitely message your doctor before taking it. Also, try having some cold milk, it actually gave me instant relief back then!

While Pepcid is mostly safe, why not try some simple lifestyle tweaks first? Try eating dinner 3 hours before sleeping and raise your head with an extra pillow. If it still burns, ask your doctor for a safe tablet.

Beta, please be very careful about medicines during this special time. Ask your hospital doctor before taking anything. Drinking fresh coconut water in the afternoon is also very cooling for the stomach.
