Can i take amoxicillin during pregnancy?

My doctor has prescribed amoxicillin for an infection I have. I'm in my second trimester of pregnancy, and I'm concerned if it's truly safe to take this antibiotic while pregnant.

Honestly, amoxicillin is one of the safer antibiotics we usually see being prescribed during pregnancy. But please don't just self-medicate, even if you have leftover pills at home. Your gynac needs to confirm the dosage and make sure it's actually a bacterial issue first.

My wife was prescribed this in her second trimester for a bad dental infection. Her doctor said it was perfectly fine, and everything went smoothly. Still, better to just call up your doc and double-check before swallowing any pill.

My cousin sister went through this last month when she got a nasty throat infection. She was super scared to take anything, but her gynac said amoxicillin is safe for the baby. Just get a quick green light from your doctor first to be safe, ya.

Actually, my wife's doctor explained that amoxicillin falls under Category B, which means it has a very strong safety record during pregnancy. But they only prescribe it when absolutely necessary, like for severe infections. Definitely consult your obstetrician to get the exact safe dosage for your trimester.

When my bhabhi had to take this, she was so worried it would mess up her digestion, especially with all her golgappa cravings! Her doctor said the medicine is safe but told her to eat simple, non-spicy ghar ka khana and curd to keep her stomach happy. Do ask your doctor once before taking it.
