Can i take a pregnancy test in the afternoon?
My period is a few days late, and I'm feeling quite anxious. I have a pregnancy test kit at home, but I'm only free to take it in the afternoon. Will the result still be accurate then?

I am not very sure about how these test kits work, but I read that morning is best. Can we really get a wrong result if we do it in the afternoon? I am a bit hesitant to ask anyone at home about this.
Well, you can, but afternoon urine is usually diluted with all the tea and water we drink during the day. Unless you want a confusing faint line that makes you scratch your head, it's better to wait for the morning. Save yourself the afternoon drama!
I completely understand wanting to test right away instead of waiting. But afternoon urine isn't concentrated enough, especially in the early weeks. If you must test in the afternoon, try not to drink any fluids for at least 3-4 hours beforehand to get a better reading.
Over the years, I have always seen that morning urine is recommended because it is the most reliable. Testing in the afternoon might just cause unnecessary worry with faint lines. Have patience, sleep over it, and check in the morning.
In our experience, we did a test in the afternoon when my wife was about a week late, and it showed a very clear positive immediately. But she had already missed her period by several days, so the hormone levels were probably high enough anyway.

I am so anxious and want to test right now this afternoon, but I'm scared it will show a false negative. Has anyone else tested in the afternoon and still got a clear positive? Or is it really a waste of a kit?
I know how stressful the waiting game is and how it completely takes over your mind. But testing in the afternoon might give you an unclear result, which will only double your anxiety. Take a deep breath, wait for tomorrow morning, and get a reliable answer.
