Can i sleep on my side after gallbladder surgery?

I had my gallbladder removed last week, and I'm finding it hard to get comfortable sleep on my back. I'm usually a side sleeper. When can I safely start sleeping on my side again after gallbladder surgery without causing issues to my stitches or recovery?

I struggled so much after my gallbladder removal because sleeping on my back was giving me panic attacks and terrible insomnia. It gets better, and once the left side felt comfortable around day 4, I finally got some sleep.

I was looking this up because my dad just had his gallbladder out yesterday. Most recovery blogs say sleeping on the left side is fine, but avoid the right side to let the gall bladder area heal.

Hey! Sleep on your left side if you are tired of sleeping on your back. Just keep a soft pillow close to hug so you don't roll onto your right side where the cuts are.

When I had my gallbladder surgery, my doctor told me I could sleep on my left side as long as it didn't hurt. I put a pillow under my stomach for support and it worked perfectly.

Yes, you can sleep on your left side after a few days. Just avoid the right side for a bit as that's where the incisions are.
