Can i ride a bike during pregnancy?

I used to ride my bicycle regularly for exercise and to commute before I found out I was pregnant. Now that I'm in my first trimester, I'm not sure if it's safe to continue cycling. Can I still ride a bike during pregnancy?

Don't take advice on this from online forums, people have too many opinions. Riding on Indian roads with potholes is highly risky due to sudden jerks and balance issues. Ask your gynecologist directly before doing anything like this.

I rode my scooty till my fourth month but only on very smooth, familiar colony roads. Honestly though, after the first trimester, your center of gravity changes and balance becomes tough. If you feel any cramps or sudden pain, stop immediately and visit your doc.

Along with avoiding rough bike rides, focus heavily on your nutrition right now. Getting clean vegetarian proteins like paneer and sprouts is so important. Avoid outside food that can cause stomach infections during these crucial months.

Conceiving is so precious, especially if you have had hormonal struggles like PCOS. I wouldn't risk riding a bike due to the risk of falls or sudden jerks on the road. Better to take it easy and walk gently instead.

I get so stressed even thinking about my wife riding on these roads! What if there's a sudden brake or a slip? Please consider safer alternatives just to be absolutely sure nothing goes wrong.

It is much better to take a break from two-wheelers for a few months! Walk instead to stay active and happy. Take care of yourself and enjoy this beautiful phase!

If a fall or jerk happens, the emergency scans and hospital bills will be very expensive, not to mention the risk. It's much cheaper and safer to take an auto or cab for some months. Plan your transport budget early to avoid stress.
