Can i lift weights with kidney stones?

I recently got diagnosed with a small kidney stone, and I'm a bit concerned about my gym routine. Before this, I used to do heavy weight training regularly. Is it safe to continue lifting weights with kidney stones, or should I stop completely until it passes?

I was looking into this because my cousin has a 6mm stone. From what I read, heavy lifting increases abdominal pressure which might cause the stone to move and trigger severe pain. It's probably better to stick to light walking until it passes.

It is best to avoid heavy weights right now, beta. Drink plenty of barley water and fresh coconut water to help flush the stone out naturally. But if you start having sharp back pain, vomiting, or blood in your urine, go to the hospital immediately.

Bhai, please do not lift heavy things right now. When my brother had kidney stones, even small movements used to hurt him. Drink lots of water, take rest, and let the stone come out first before you go back to heavy work.

I tried to do my normal routine with a kidney stone and it got stuck, leading to severe infection and emergency surgery. It was a horrible experience. Please do not lift weights and go see your urologist to get a proper scan done.

Your body is asking for rest right now, so do not force it with heavy gym sessions. Keep your mind calm, drink lots of warm water, and let yourself heal naturally. Take care and stay positive.
