Can i get a tattoo during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant, but I've always wanted to get a small tattoo. My friend got one recently and it made me want one too. Can I get a tattoo during pregnancy, or is it better to wait until after the baby is born?

Honestly, just wait until after the delivery. I had this huge urge to get a tattoo during my second trimester, but my doctor strictly advised against it due to the risk of skin infections and blood-borne diseases like Hepatitis B. I finally got it done 6 months after my baby was born, and it was worth the wait.

I totally get it, you probably want to celebrate this beautiful phase with some permanent art. But the stress, pain, and tiny chance of infection from the ink and needles just aren't worth the risk to the baby right now. It's much safer to put this plan on hold for a few months.

Don't listen to any online blogs saying it's fine if the studio is clean. Any needle piercing your skin carries a risk of infection, and your immune system is already suppressed during pregnancy. Verify with your gynaecologist first, and they will tell you the exact same thing.

I know how frustrating it is when you feel like you've lost control over your own body and just want to do something for yourself. But please be gentle with yourself and wait. A tattoo is a beautiful thing, but keeping you and your little one safe from any potential infections right now is the priority.

As someone who has to watch my blood sugar and healing times closely, I know that even small skin wounds can sometimes take long to heal or get infected during pregnancy. It's best not to put unnecessary stress on your body's healing system right now. Better to avoid it.

Getting a tattoo involves a lot of pain and anxiety, which can easily spike your blood pressure. During pregnancy, keeping your BP and stress levels stable is incredibly important. Skip the tattoo for now, stick to your regular prenatal checkups, and keep your environment calm.

Arey beti, why take such a big risk when you are carrying a life inside you? If you are feeling itchy or want some beautiful designs on your hands, go for natural, homemade organic mehendi instead of these chemical inks. It is cool, safe, and completely traditional!
