Can i eat smoked salmon during pregnancy?

My husband brought home some smoked salmon, which I usually love. But since I'm pregnant, I'm unsure if it's safe for me to eat it. Is smoked salmon okay during this time, or should I give it a pass?

I really love smoked salmon on bagels, but I've read so many scary things online about listeria. Is anyone else avoiding it completely, or is the packaged stuff from supermarkets safe? I'm too scared to take a bite.

Please be very careful with cold-smoked salmon. I once ignored a minor stomach issue after eating raw-ish food and ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration, which is very dangerous during pregnancy. If you eat it and feel even slightly off, go straight to the doctor.

My sister was craving this last year. Honestly, from what we looked up, cold-smoked salmon is risky because of bacteria. If you really want it, her doctor told her to only eat it if it's cooked into a hot dish, like baked in a pasta or something.

I used to think smoked salmon meant it was cooked, but apparently, cold-smoking doesn't kill all the bugs. Save yourself the stress and the stomach issues. Just stick to normal cooked fish for now, you can have all the fancy bagels later.

Haan na, smoked salmon behaves like raw fish only, so risk is there. Better to avoid cold-smoked varieties for a few months. If you must eat it, make sure it is hot-smoked or cooked thoroughly in an oven. Safe side rehna hi best hai.

My mother-in-law advised avoiding any uncooked or cold-preserved fish during this time, and our family doctor agreed with her. Cold-smoked salmon can carry bacteria. It's much safer to have freshly grilled or pan-fried salmon instead. Take care.

During pregnancy, we must feed our bodies foods that are pure and free from risks. Cold-smoked salmon isn't fully cooked by heat, so it is safer to avoid it. Stick to warm, freshly cooked meals that nourish both your physical body and mind.
