Can i eat popcorn in pregnancy?

I'm having a strong craving for something crunchy, and popcorn sounds perfect. My mom told me to avoid junk food. Is it okay to eat popcorn in pregnancy?

Yes, you can absolutely have popcorn, it's a perfectly safe grain. Just stick to basic homemade popcorn and avoid the highly processed, extra salty theater packs. Keep it simple and healthy.

Haan beti, popcorn is very safe to eat. In our village we make it at home in a kadhai with very little oil and salt. It is very light on the stomach and good for health.

I ate home-cooked popcorn during both my pregnancies to deal with morning cravings. It’s light and doesn't make you feel bloated. Just make sure to drink enough water after eating it.

Since managing my PCOS, I always look closely at carb sources. Popcorn is a whole grain, so a small portion of air-popped corn is generally safe. Just be careful with high sodium or sweet toppings during pregnancy.

I can only share what my wife did when she was pregnant. She regularly ate plain popcorn as a light evening snack without any issues. It seemed like a much better option than reaching for oily chips.
