Can i eat kimchi during pregnancy?

I developed a liking for kimchi after trying it at a restaurant. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm a bit hesitant about eating fermented foods like this. Is it generally safe to have kimchi during pregnancy?

If it is pasteurised, you are totally good to go! Fermented foods are actually great for gut health, just make sure it's from a clean, hygienic brand 🍜. Enjoy your food cravings!

Please be very careful with raw fermented foods right now. I had a severe foodborne infection in my fifth month because of some unpasteurised street food, and it was so scary. Better to run it by your doctor before eating outside kimchi.

In my experience, pregnancy is a time to keep our digestive fire balanced and calm. Very spicy fermented foods like kimchi can sometimes cause acidity or heartburn. Listen to your body and try gentle deep breathing if you feel uneasy after eating.

I am actually quite new to understanding Korean food and its safety during pregnancy. Is store-bought kimchi generally safer than the homemade fermented ones? My sister is asking about this, so any tips would really help.

Kimchi has some solid probiotic benefits which is great for digestion, especially when you are less active during pregnancy. Just make sure the sodium levels aren't crazy high. Pair it with light walking and a clean diet to stay on track.

Keep your mind happy and stress-free, that's what matters most for the baby. If you feel like having a small portion of kimchi, eat it with a positive mind. Just make sure it is fresh and clean, and take good care of your health.

Yaar, don't stress too much about every little thing you eat! Just make sure the kimchi is from a reputed restaurant or a sealed jar from the supermarket. A little bit of it to satisfy your craving won't hurt at all.
