Can i eat flax seeds during pregnancy?

I've been adding flax seeds to my morning smoothie for extra fiber and omega-3s. Now that I'm pregnant, I'm worried if it's still safe. Can I eat flax seeds during pregnancy, or should I stop?

I was just reading some articles on pregnancy nutrition out of curiosity, and it seems flax seeds are a bit controversial. While they have good omega-3, some sources say they can mimic estrogen and shouldn't be eaten in large amounts. It is definitely something to ask your doctor about.

Haan, flax seeds (alsi) thode garam hote hain body ke liye, toh pregnancy mein log thoda darrte hain. Agar khana bhi hai toh adha chammach se zyada mat khao na, aur behtar hoga ek baar doctor se confirm kar lo.

It is wonderful that you are focusing on healthy seeds for your baby's growth. Flax seeds are very nutritious, but since they have a strong warming effect, eat them in tiny quantities. Keep your mind calm, stay positive, and discuss it with your doctor.

My wife wanted to add flax seeds to her morning smoothies during her second trimester. Our doctor told us that a tiny amount of ground flax seeds is fine, but don't overdo it because of the phytoestrogen content. Better to play it safe and keep the quantity minimal.

Beta, alsi thodi garam hoti hai taseer mein, isliye garbhvati mahilaon ko ise zyada nahi khana chahiye. Agar mann ho toh kabhi kabhar thoda sa khao, par sabse pehle doctor babu se pooch lo.

I had a lot of constipation during my pregnancy and wanted to take flax seeds, but my gynecologist advised limiting it to just a tiny pinch occasionally because of hormone-mimicking compounds. For constipation, she asked me to use fiber-rich veggies and isabgol instead, which worked perfectly.

I can only share my own experience—I avoided flax seeds during my pregnancy because my family was a bit worried about its hot nature. I chose to get my omega-3 from other safe sources instead, just to be on the safer side.

I have thyroid issues, so my doctor always tells me to be careful with seeds like flax because they can sometimes interfere with hormone levels. Especially during pregnancy, your hormones are already changing, so please consult your doctor and keep track of your regular blood tests.
