Can i eat chinese during pregnancy?

My friends are planning a Chinese dinner tonight, and I really want to join them. I'm a bit hesitant because of the MSG and other ingredients often used. Is it safe for me to eat Chinese during pregnancy?

Chinese food often contains a lot of hidden sugars, refined flour (maida), and high sodium sauces. If you are monitoring your blood sugar or have gestational diabetes, it is best to avoid it or opt for a simple steamed vegetable dish with no sweet sauces.

I ignored a minor stomach upset after eating cheap street-side Chinese food during my first pregnancy, thinking it would pass. It turned into severe dehydration and I had to be hospitalized. Please, if you feel any cramping or vomiting after eating out, go straight to your doctor.

It is okay to eat Chinese occasionally during pregnancy if you make sure it is from a highly hygienic restaurant. Try to ask them to omit MSG and extra salt to keep it safe for you and the baby.

I totally get it, those spicy and salty noodle cravings during pregnancy are next level! You can definitely indulge once in a while, just choose a good restaurant and request them to prepare it with fresh oil and minimal MSG.

Sino-Indian food has too much vinegar, ajinomoto, and heavy sauces which produce heat in the body. If you really want Chinese, make simple fried rice at home with lots of fresh vegetables and very little soya sauce. Drink warm cumin water afterward to help with digestion.

Hey, chill out. Eating Chinese once in a while won't hurt. Just avoid raw cabbage toppings or street stalls where the hygiene is questionable. Stick to well-cooked dishes from a reputable restaurant and you'll be perfectly fine.

I used to feel so guilty every time I craved Hakka noodles, crying thinking I was harming my baby with unhealthy food. Please don't be hard on yourself. Cravings are normal. Just eat a small portion from a clean place and let go of the guilt.
