Can i eat calamari during pregnancy?

We are on a beach holiday, and there's a lot of fresh seafood available. I was tempted by some calamari, but then I remembered I'm pregnant. Is it generally safe to eat calamari during pregnancy, or should I avoid it?

I can only tell you what I did. I had a huge craving for fried calamari during my second trimester and ate it a few times at a trusted hygiene-conscious restaurant. I made sure it was fully cooked and hot, and I was completely fine.

Hey sweetie, don't stress too much about seafood! Just make sure the calamari is not raw or rubbery. If it is fried properly and steaming hot, you are good to go. Enjoy your cravings, just keep it moderate.

Calamari (squid) is safe during pregnancy as long as it is thoroughly cooked. Never eat it raw or undercooked, like in some salads. Make sure you buy it fresh and cook it well at home, or eat it only at very clean places.

Oh, I would be so scared of food poisoning! Seafood can sometimes be tricky if it isn't super fresh. If you really want to eat it, please ensure the restaurant is premium and hygienic, or better yet, make it at home under your supervision.

Eating light and fresh foods is very beneficial during pregnancy. If you do choose to eat seafood like calamari, ensure it is prepared in a very clean environment. Deep frying can make it heavy to digest, so try grilled or lightly sauteed versions.

Squid has good nutrients, but when managing thyroid levels, you have to be careful about overall iodine intake and food safety. Make sure you don't overdo seafood. Keep tracking your thyroid levels every month and discuss your seafood intake with your doctor.
