Can i eat breakfast before pregnancy glucose test?

I have my pregnancy glucose test coming up, and I'm a bit confused about the instructions. Can I eat breakfast before taking the pregnancy glucose test, or do I need to fast for that too?

Actually depend karta hai kaunsa test hai na. Ek toh fasting wala hota hai jisme kuch nahi khana hota, aur dusra normal hota hai. Apni lab se ek baar confirm kar lo na, varna report kharab aayegi.

Oh god, I am having my test next week and I am so confused about this! Some people told me to go completely empty stomach, while others said a light toast is fine. Did anyone else get dizzy if they went without eating?

Agree with others, usually fasting is required for the main GTT test. Better to skip breakfast or ask your clinic directly before going.

Usually, they want you to fast for the accurate glucose tolerance test! But don't worry, just call your clinic quickly today and they will guide you. Keep some snacks ready in your purse for right after the test is done!

Please do not eat anything before confirming with your gynaecologist or the lab technician. Eating the wrong thing can falsely elevate your blood sugar levels, leading to unnecessary stress and repeat testing. It is always better to call them and ask.

It depends on whether you're doing the 1-hour screening or the 3-hour diagnostic test. For the 1-hour one, some doctors allow a light, high-protein breakfast with no sugar, but for the 3-hour one, you must fast. Check your lab instruction sheet to be precise.

I just did my gestational diabetes test last month! My doctor told me strictly not to eat or drink anything except water for 8 hours before the test. I packed a nice sandwich in my bag to eat immediately after they finished drawing my blood.
