Can i dye my hair during pregnancy?

My roots are showing really badly, and I desperately want to get my hair dyed. I've heard conflicting advice about coloring hair during pregnancy, with some saying it's fine after the first trimester. Is it actually safe to dye my hair now?

I totally get it, those gray hairs popping up can make you feel so conscious when you already have so many body changes. Most studies show it is safe after the first trimester. Just try to use ammonia-free dyes to be safe.

I dyed my hair twice during my second and third trimesters. My doctor advised me to wait until the first 12 weeks were over. Also, make sure the room is well-ventilated so you don't inhale any strong chemical fumes.

Haan na, I was also so scared about this! But actually, very little chemical gets absorbed through the scalp. Just wait till the second trimester and go to a professional salon so they do it safely.

Yes, it is generally considered safe after the first trimester, just make sure to use natural or organic hair colors.

While hair dye is mostly external, some chemicals can still enter your system. If you are very cautious about what goes into your body during pregnancy, it is better to avoid chemical coloring altogether and try safe herbal alternatives.

If you want to be completely safe, why not use pure henna or indigo powder at home? It is natural and has no chemicals. If you still want chemical dye and develop any skin rash or allergy, please see a doctor immediately.

Actually, it is fine, yaar. Just ask the salon stylist for highlight techniques where the dye doesn't directly touch your scalp. That way, there is zero risk of chemicals getting absorbed.
