Can i drink caffeine during pregnancy?

My morning sickness is quite bad, and I feel a bit sleepy all the time. I'm craving a cup of coffee to kickstart my day. Can I drink caffeine during pregnancy, or is it strictly prohibited? I'm worried about affecting the baby.

I was just reading up on this because I love my cold coffees! From what I found, the general guideline is to keep it under 200 mg of caffeine per day. That's roughly one mug of filter coffee, which seems pretty doable.

In our days, we didn't have so many rules, and we all drank our regular cup of milk tea twice a day without any issues. Just don't drink too much of it and avoid strong black coffee. Listen to your body and don't worry so much, beta.

Yes, you can have caffeine, just try to limit it to under 200 mg a day which is about one standard cup.

I am struggling so much without my morning chai and coffee, and it's making me so grumpy. Did anyone else feel super tired cutting down on caffeine during their first trimester? Is it really safe to have at least one small cup?

Honestly, if my wife didn't have her morning coffee during pregnancy, I wouldn't have survived the day! Doctors say up to 200mg is safe. Keep the caffeine moderate, otherwise sleep deprivation will hit you even before the baby arrives!

I know how hard it is when you are already dealing with mood swings and then you have to restrict your favorite comfort drink. It feels like a constant struggle. Having just one small cup of tea or coffee daily is perfectly fine and can really help your mood.

I completely understand the anxiety around this, because even a small cup of coffee used to make me worry about the baby's safety. Yes, moderate caffeine is safe, but if it makes you anxious or gives you jitters, it is totally okay to skip it for your peace of mind.

Life without coffee is so boring, especially when those afternoon cravings hit! You can definitely have some caffeine, just keep an eye on hidden sources like chocolates and soft drinks too. One small cappuccino and a cookie is my perfect safe treat!
