Can i drink alcohol after tb treatment?

I recently completed my treatment for TB, and the doctor said I'm cured. Now, during a family function, I was offered a drink. I'm wondering, is it safe for me to drink alcohol after TB treatment, or should I avoid it completely for some time? I don't want to risk my health again.

I just finished my 6-month TB course last month and I am so scared to touch alcohol now. Did anyone else wait for a few months before having a drink? I really want to know if it feels okay or if it causes any liver pain again.

Please be very careful. TB medicines are extremely heavy on the liver, and I actually developed mild drug-induced hepatitis during my treatment. You should absolutely get your liver function tests (LFT) done and consult your doctor before drinking even a little bit.

When I was getting my follow-up done at Fortis, the doctor clearly told me that alcohol should be avoided for at least a few weeks post-treatment to let the liver enzymes stabilize. Do ask your doctor clearly in your next appointment.

I always overthink these things and feel so anxious even thinking about drinking after being sick! Please take it very slow, your body has fought a major infection. If you do decide to drink, maybe start with a very small amount and see how you feel.

I used to panic thinking my liver was permanently damaged after my TB therapy was over. But honestly, after my doctor checked my reports and said everything was normal, he said occasional light drinking is fine. Just don't rush into it immediately.

Aapka ilaaj poora ho gaya hai yeh toh bohot acchi baat hai. Par abhi sharir ko andar se majboot banana hai, dahi aur fresh juices lijiye thoda. Sharaf peene me thoda parhez rakhein toh aapke liver ke liye bohot accha hoga.

Your body has successfully healed from a difficult disease, which is a blessing. It is best to treat this recovered body with love and care. Avoid putting toxic substances like alcohol in it for some time, and focus on pure, nourishing foods instead.

I totally get it, you must be dying to go out and celebrate after months of heavy medicines and restriction! But please protect your health. Just wait a little longer, clear it with your doc, and then enjoy safely.

While the active TB treatment is complete, your liver needs time to fully recover from the heavy anti-TB drug load. It is highly recommended to undergo a Liver Function Test (LFT) first. Please consult your treating physician before resuming any alcohol consumption.

Bro, honestly, just give your body a break for a while. TB meds are no joke and they totally drain your system. Better to chill with mocktails for a few more months than risk messing up your liver health right after recovering.

After spending so much on TB tests, chest X-rays, and medicines, I wouldn't want to risk any more medical expenses. Getting a liver test done now will cost some money, but it is much cheaper than treating liver damage later. Better to avoid alcohol for now.

Yay for finishing your treatment! 🎉 That's a huge relief. Just be a bit careful with the drinks for a while as your liver worked hard during the meds. Celebrate with some amazing food first! 🍰

Recovering from TB is a big milestone, so focus on rebuilding your health first. I have to manage my BP and lifestyle very strictly, and I know how much strain alcohol puts on our organs. Get your routine health checkups done first and ask your physician.

My friend had TB last year and he started drinking within two weeks of finishing his course. Honestly, he got severe stomach pain and acid reflux. Don't make that mistake, wait at least a month or two till your body feels fully back to normal.

I finished my TB treatment back in 2023. Personally, I waited for almost three months after my last dose before having a glass of beer, just to be on the safe side. I felt totally fine, but everyone's recovery time can be different.
